“Given that the water from the Colorado River is shared among seven states, it was interesting to learn the management and policy practices in play basin-wide to cope up with water shortages in the basin. It was enthralling to see the efforts of the commission and other water agencies to avoid conflict,” stated Akbar. The meetings bring together the states of the Upper Colorado River Basin, and their purpose is to provide updates on various projects and research activities going on in the basin in reference to water resources and management.
